Nécrologie de Robert "Bob" Baylis

Peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Roberto "Bob" Raffaele Baylis of Lancaster, formerly of Montreal, at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen; his children: Leslie (Ruth), Julie, Robert (Genevieve) and Kelly (Sylvia); and 11 grandchildren: Melanie, Julian, Christopher, Grace, Joyce, Jade, Clara, Samuel, Noah, Luna and Shannon. Bob was born in 1935 son of John Baylis and Iolanda Italiano and brother to Ralph Baylis. Bob grew up in the Montreal district of Mile End and married Kathleen Kukura in 1956. Together they raised four children in Laval, Quebec. Bob worked for the National Film Board until 1969 when he embarked on a career as an independent film producer. As a producer, Bob won numerous accolades and awards, along with international recognition for his work. Bob held his duties and responsibilities as a husband and father as his first priority and he took great pride in his children and grandchildren. Family and friends are requested to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and on Monday from 9-10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral, 70 St Paul St., Alexandria on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11 am. A private interment will be held at a later date. In memory of Bob, memorial donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
