McCarthy, Rita Thérèse (née Gareau) Peacefully, surrounded by family at Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital, Alexandria on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Roger McCarthy (July 15, 1983). Loving Mother of Paul Emile “Butch” McCarthy (Johanne), Linda Bellefeuille (Yvon), Suzane “Sue” Hetherington (Mark), and Ronnie McCarthy (Manon Séguin). Proud grandmother of Patrick (Sophie), Eric (Karine), Kevin (Stephanie), Francis (Catherine), Joël (Jennifer), Julie (Sylvain), Bailey (Martin), Morgan (Ryan), Steven, and Stephanie; and great grandmother of Marc Olivier, Maude, Coralie, Abigail, Nathan, Alexime, Ramielle, and Samantha. Dear daughter of the late Mederic and Roseanna (née Levert) Gareau. Sister of the late Adianna Pringle (late Gordon), the late Léon (late Gladys), Jean-Paul (Laurence), the late Marcel (late Noella), Cécile Garreau, Joe (Jeanne d’Arc), the late Irène Sauve (late Bob), the late Réo-Paul, the late Paul Emile (Marielle), Rémi, Amedée (Diane), the late Gérald (late Raymonde), and Jeanne Gareau. Rita will be fondly remembered by her extended family, friends and neighbours.
